Healthy Aging Workshop: Terms & Conditions and Code of Conduct
By participating in any free workshop or informational session run by Your Healthy Aging Coach Ltd. (referred to as “the Coach”), you agree to the following terms, conditions, and code of conduct. These provisions are in place to ensure a safe, supportive, and legally compliant environment for all attendees.
1. Professional Scope of Service
Your Healthy Aging Coach provides health coaching, educational, and informational services only.
The Coach (Sarah Pearce) is a certified Master Health Coach but is not a licensed medical doctor, therapist, dietitian, or registered nurse.
The information, strategies, and advice provided in the workshop are for educational and informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy.
2. Health Responsibility and Liability
You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your health and wellbeing.
You must consult with your licensed medical practitioner or other health professional before making any changes to your diet, medication, lifestyle, or exercise routine.
You agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries, or damages, known or unknown, which might occur as a result of implementing information or engaging in activities discussed during the workshop.
3. Accident Compensation Act 2001 (New Zealand)
You acknowledge that, under New Zealand law, you are covered for personal injury by the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).
To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, you waive and release Your Healthy Aging Coach Ltd. and its coach(es) from all other claims, demands, and causes of action related to injury or loss that may arise from your attendance at the physical workshop venue (e.g., slips, trips, or falls).
Part 2: Workshop Attendance and Booking
4. Workshop Fee and Status
All Healthy Aging Community Workshops are offered free of charge as a community service.
No financial or commercial guarantee is made, and no fees will be refunded as none were collected.
5. Cancellation and Changes
The Coach reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or change the time or location of any scheduled workshop at any time. Notice will be provided via the methods listed on yourhealthyagingcoach.com (or other stated communication channels).
6. Personal Property
The Coach and the workshop venue are not responsible for any personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged on the premises.
Part 3: Code of Conduct
All participants must adhere to the following Code of Conduct to ensure a positive, confidential, and safe learning environment for everyone:
7. Confidentiality and Group Sharing
If personal information is shared during the workshop by the Coach or by other attendees, it must be treated as strictly confidential.
You agree to not disclose or share any personal information about other attendees outside of the workshop environment.
8. Respectful and Supportive Behaviour
Participants must treat the Coach, any venue staff, and all other attendees with courtesy, kindness, and respect at all times.
The workshop environment is intended to be supportive and non-judgmental.
Discussions should remain focused on the workshop topic.
9. No Disruption
Phones and electronic devices must be silenced or switched off during the workshop.
Disruptive behaviour, including but not limited to excessive side-talking, unnecessary movement, personal attacks, or repeated interruptions, is not permitted.
10. Disciplinary Action
The Coach reserves the right to ask any participant engaging in disruptive, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour to immediately leave the workshop.
Any participant who violates this Code of Conduct may be permanently excluded from all future workshops and coaching services offered by Your Healthy Aging Coach Ltd.
By registering for and attending a Your Healthy Aging Coach Workshop, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and the Code of Conduct.
